London friend has announced that there will be a workshop running at London Friend. The aim of Amistad is to provide a confidential and non judgemental peer space for men of African decent and other men of colour to explore any and all issues that are related to their identity, culture and race as gay men, men who love men and men who have sex with men.Title: Amistad First Workshop - Every Tuesday from 12 September 2006 until 12 December 2006, 7pm – 9pm The workshop is open to anyone for the first four weeks, and then closes at week five for the duration of the workshop. This allows the participants to build up a group identity and become more mutually supportive. The workshop will have four tenets; confidentiality, personal safety, exploration, and reflection. This will be a confidential and non-judgemental space where men of African Descent and men of colour can explore their thoughts and feelings related to their sexuality, culture, and race. Each participant is encouraged to use the space to explore and reflect on his personal thoughts and feelings, being aware of his own personal safety, the limitations and boundaries that apply to the group as he shares who he is and what he feels with the larger group.
