Istanbul

Turkey is the only the Moslem country where gay sex is legal, and many men have sex with other men. Actually, in Moslem culture if two men have sex with each other "it does not mean that they are gay, either they don't talk about it or only the bottom one is gay."

Legal age is 18 in Turkey for gay or straight. Another thing in Turkey is that young and old people are not that separated like in western Europe. In many bars young and older men are mixed and it is not unusual for a young man and an older man to be in a relationship. Turkish and Kurdish men are very friendly and like foreigners.

Istanbul is the biggest city in Turkey and the best city in the middle east for gay men to visit. In Istanbul there are many gay clubs, bars, discos, Hamam, saunas and cruising areas.

There are many oil wrestling competitions in Turkey in different cities during months June and July. Ahmet organizes tours for. He will be organizing tours again in June and July 2004 and all competitions dates for 2004 will be listed here in May 2004.

TAKSIM SQUARE around the statue and in front of Burger King. After Aquarius sauna was closed down, all the boys worked there are hanging around there too.
FATIH PARK across Fatih statue where Roman's ruins are.
KADIKOY PARK (Asian side) across Post Office where public toilets are and another park on the left side of Police Station, after animal market.
Be extra careful in the parks, and never go with anyone who want to have sex with you in the wood or somewhere in open air.

HOTELS - There are no gay hotels in Istanbul, but some hotels in Taksim Square area are open minded and gay friendly.
