Patrick Lilley and his posse marched back into town last Saturday, as London's longest running regular club night staged a relaunch extravaganza in its new home at Crash. Following a two-month break after vacating its slot at club Factory, Patrick ensured the latest QueerNation renaissance went off like a rocket.Piling through the doors on Albert Embankment, it was booty to booty and funk to funky on the main floor for Vicky Edwards' soulful house set. Meanwhile Jeffrey Hinton got spinning with a deluge of dancefloor classics in the back room, evoking those halcyon days of Queer Nation at Brixton's Substation, not just in terms of the music but also with the cruisey look of crash. But why dwell on the past? With QueerNation rising up bigger and better, proving it can easily attract the punters to a venue like Crash, once we'd soon become accustomed to QN's new surroundings and we're sure there'll be plenty more rockin' parties to look forward to in future. Later on and DJ legend robert Owens took to the decks as the main floor heaved and 'Flawless' New York trio the Ones dropped in, chaperoned by tasty tim, to check out the action. Seems like the message has spread far and wide - QueerNation bumps is back. Join in the party at crash next month! Words by Chris John. The next Queer Nation night will be on Sat. Nov 21st @ Crash, 65 Albert Embankment, Vauxhall, SE11.
