 B A R / P U B GUBU GUBU was relaunched as a full time Gay Bar on February 26th 2001. The venue boasts two floors, trendy design and a relaxed atmosphere. Downstairs has a relaxed chill-out area, with pleanty of seating. The bar is a stones throw from Capel Street bridge gets its name from a political phrase used by Charlie Haughey. Along with the George it is 100% gay 7 days a week. The pub is currently being renovated (August 2000). Recent changes include a large rainbow flag mural on the ceiling. Attracts a more mixed age group than the George. Saturday nights are now men only and a new door policy has been put in place, no sports shoes or trainers are allowed from August 2000. Popular in afternoons for coffee. The casting couch with Panti is held on Tuesday nights - a caberet show with a slot for people to get up on stage and perform.
