ImageJonathan Plummer made headlines when New York Times bestselling author Terry McMillan -- whose novel “How Stella Got Her Groove Back” is based on their romance -- filed for divorce, claiming that Plummer hid his homosexuality in order to marry her for her money and gain U.S. citizenship.

Now Plummer delivers a sexy and satisfying novel with the help of co-author Karen Hunter, "Balancing Act" (Simon & Shuster) is as deliciously racy as the life he lived.

However, local black bookstore Marcus Books is not buying it, or selling it for that matter.
Joe Hawkins, black gay event promoter for clubrimshot.com and host of the online gay talk show “Real Talk” with keepingitrealonlinetv.com, said he is not surprised. “However, I am disappointed. I called Marcus Books and asked if they were selling the book. The woman who answered the phone said that they were not selling the book now and wouldn’t be in the future. When I asked the woman why, she stated that it is the bookstores personal preference not to sell the book. I just believe that the practice of not selling a book just because you don’t like the author is a disturbing form of censorship.” Hawkins said.

Mark Plummer, personal manager and cousin of Jonathan stated “I am very disappointed to hear that Marcus Books is not stocking Balancing Act by Jonathan Plummer and Karen Hunter. Why Marcus Books would ban a novel that encourages compassion and understanding instead of homophobia -in the community that needs it the most-- is indeed very sad but not a surprise. Terry McMillan has gone to great and personally humiliating lengths to prevent the publication and distribution of this book. “Balancing Act" is fiction with a purpose and it will prevail with or without the support of Marcus Books.” said Plummer.

Hawkins went on to state that “I don’t think that homophobia is the issue where Marcus Books is concerned, although I don’t know how many books written by black LGBT people they have in stock. I do know that E. Lynn Harris is a favorite author of the store and he is a personal friend of one of the owner’s and he is openly gay. Jonathan-o-phobia is more likely the cause.” He said.

Jonathan did not write a word of the potboiler that was written entirely by Karen Hunter. Mark, honey, get a J-O-B!!!! Obama went to Harvard too, and look what he is “doin’”.

Jonathan is an aging grifter. Mark is just another “affirmative inaction” victim.

Seriously, honey, let it die already. Go somewhere that people do NOT know about the fisco you created live, like ALASKA!!!!

Lose some weight, get hair implants, get laser eye surgery, etc. and WORK for a living. Jonathan is less than nothing, and you are even less than that.

Mark Plummer is an idiot. He uses malapropisms constantly. He had mediocre grades at Harvard, much like many typical affirmitive action students. He has done nothing worth mentioning since graduation. He spent time collecting unemployment insurance benefits this last year. What a big fat loser!

Let’s get a few things straight–err– I mean clear.

1) Balancing act was “ghost written” by Karen Hunter. Ms. Hunter writes books for people who cannot write books on their own. Listen to Jonathan Plummer speak, he is inarticulate, and often bursts into girlish giggles.

2) Jonathan Plummer is pushing 35 and is merely an out of work dog-groomer and sometimes hair stylist. He is not handsome enough to model, even though he portays himself– err– I mean “Justin” as a male supermodel. There has never been a male super model. Certainly if there existed a male supermodel he would be handsome. Not just sort if cute in an effiminate sort of way.

3) Do you ever see pictures of Jonathan’s cousin, Mark Plummer??? Well, he is short, obese, wears glasses, and has a receding hairline. Once could easily call him gnome-like. And if you think Jonathan sounds girlish, listen to Mark speak.

4) The book has officially bombed. Tanked. Died. No one is buying it. Not African-Americans, not gays, or as Jonathan might say “Not nobody”.

5) As for Jonathan and Mark Plummer’s “fame”, here is a typical conversation:

“Mark Plummer”

“Who?”

“Jonathan Plummer’s cousin.”

“Who?”

“Terry McMillan’s gay ex-husband.”

“Who?”

“The writer of “Waiting to Exhale”.

“Oh that movie Whitney was in when she was clean and sober, wasn’t that about 15 years ago”.

“Yeah, that one.”

“Who cares.”
