ImageThe Government has published a commemorative magazine to mark the bicentenary of the abolition of the slave trade which can be viewed now at www.direct.gov.uk/slavetrademagazine.

The magazine aims to inform members of the public about the slave trade, those who fought for its abolition and the subsequent emancipation process as well as work taking place to tackle discrimination in Britain and forms of slavery still present in the world today.

Copies will be distributed to museums, libraries and local community organisations by the end of March. Copies can also be ordered free of charge by phoning 0870 122 6236 and quoting product code 06REU04476.

I'd be grateful if you could share details of this publication with your colleagues - Details are also being sent to all Departmental Internal Communication Teams.

In an attempt to order a copy, the 08701226236 number doesn't allow the call to go through. I would love to have a copy.
