To raise awareness on the extent of State Sponsored Homophobia in the world, ILGA have created a few items (in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish) you may want to use around you:
- ILGA is proud to present the 2008 version of its Pictorial map on LGBTI rights in the world on occasion of the federation’s 30th anniversary.
- State-Sponsored Homophobia A world survey of laws prohibiting same sex activity between consenting adults. The research, by Daniel Ottosson, Södertörn University, Stockholm, Sweden was updated in May 2008.
Did you know that: ONLY FOUR COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD PROTECTS GAYS CONSTITUTIONALLY.
ECUADOR protects gays and lesbians under a new constitution from August '98 (Chap. 2 Art 23).
FIJI and SOUTH AFRICA also ban discrimination via their constitution.
CANADA extends protection under a Supreme Court ruling (Section 15 of the Charter Rights and Freedoms, an annex to the 1982 Constitution Act). (Rex Wockner).
