22 Oct - A new report published this week calls for action to support Black Gay Men in England. The report (In the Life 2007) highlights the challenges facing Black gay men from homophobia, racism and poor sexual health. It sets out a number of actions that could be taken to respond to these challenges through building a Black Gay community.

In April 2006 when I wrote a feature for Black Britain about the over-representation of Jamaicans in British prisons, a little bird told me that the government was conducting research into the "phenomenon" of black youth crime.

"Bursting with Pride” is the title of the first annual Outburst Black Lesbian and Gay Pride Festival that takes place on Saturday, 25 August 2007 in Vauxhall, south London and will elevate Outburst to being a key player in an even more polished Pride Festival in 2008. |
