Born in London in 1971, Labour MP Parmjit Dhanda represents the Gloucester constituency. Mr Dhanda went to school in Mellow Lane comprehensive school, before going on to study engineering at Nottingham University and gaining an MSc in Information Technology.

A year after leaving university, Parmjit was appointed as one of the Labour Party's organisers. In 1998, he went on to work for Connect - the union for professionals in communications - and became the Assistant National Organiser.

After joining the Labour Party in 1988, Mr Dhanda's political experience includes volunteering and campaigning for his local Labour Party branch, and being elected as a councillor for the London borough of Hillingdon.

Parmjit is proud to be one of the youngest MPs, and aims at being a "hard-working constituency MP."
