30 Aug 06 The first UK Black Pride festival to be held in the UK has been deemed a success. It was reported that over 800 people turned up on the day, well above the expected amount. In addition to those who travelled from London, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Brighton and Ireland, there were people from as far away as South Africa, USA, France and Italy who came over specifically for the event. They also saw the local community in Shoeburyness come out to join in the festivities. Check out the photos on the website.
